My former roomie wrote a song about throwing pinky fingers as you would "throw 'bows." What does that have to do with anything? Well, itty-bitty rings always remind me of pinky rings and thus, pinky fingers.

I have this friend who always insists on buying her rings in teeny-tiny sizes. She doesn't wear them on her pinky, but instead she situates them right on that precipice of where the cuticle meets the nail. I constantly find it odd, but now seeing GWAAN's purposefully-created for nail-wear rings I can't help but want one, or two, or let's be honest...three.

Let's play with proportion! Big tops and little bottoms. I'm a rather staunch supporter of the gamine with serious gams. That leggy lass who isn't afraid to hike up her hem line in favor of hot pants. The trick to keeping it classy is pairing those short shorts with the biggest sweater you can find. Check out these chunky knits from Topshop Unique's Aw12 collection. I'm particularly fond of the cross print with the rolled up sleeves. It's the perfect amount of attitude and insouciance.

The days are getting longer. The thermometer hasn't dipped below 75 degrees in recent memory. We're still swimming in the center of summer, and the idea of wooly knits are out of sight and out of mind. Yet fall is lingering in the distance, if only in glimpses caught of furry vests and perfectly tailored tweeds. A darker palette awaits. Surface to Air's fall wardrobe has me wistfully dreaming of the weather turning with that little leather jacket at my side. Fall is my favorite season, but I'll hang onto summer for now. Woolly vest, I'll see you in my dreams...

If you take the staircase behind the market you will find the quiet and it will lead you to the open arms of the sea...or rather technically, the Puget Sound. Donning this Carven blazer always has me feeling a bit nautical. Steering clear of going overboard (haha) and a look bound for the yacht club, I paired it with my favorite Christopher Kane tank, which boasts a Hubble telescope print, and these insane Alexander Wang sandals.

Later, we traipsed downtown to catch the Torchlight Parade, another part of SeaFair festivities. It's the little things that lend Seattle its charms... And yet I still can't help but miss LA.
