{models in the TENOVERSIX private label SS10 collection}

I'm a year late with these photos, but this collection was far too amazing to not post about. Last year I attended the one-year anniversary party and SS10 collection launch for one of my absolute favorite boutiques in Los Angeles, Tenoversix. The ladies behind the line and the shop owners, Brady Cunningham and Kristen Lee are immaculate dressers and immensely talented fashion geniuses. I credit Tenoversix with sparking my love affair with brands like Dieppa Restrepo and Rachel Comey as well as for helping me build a far more interesting jewelry collection.

The launch event was an absolute blast, with music by Spring Summer and delicious St.Germaine cocktails. The private label collection was utter perfection. I loved everything about the presentation from the make-up on the models- especially the bright pink lipie, to the styling- the mixing of vintage florals and leopard was to-die-for. How amazing are those lace-inset dresses! I picked up the leopard print peep-toes, the black cut-out heels, and the rose floral short-sleeve dress from the collection. All have become instant favorites in my wardrobe. I endearingly refer to the dress as "my mumu" because it's so easy to wear. I can't wait to see what's next for the Tenoversix private label!

as the flashes blinded us in the photo booth

{dress} Vintage {shoes} BCBG Max Azria {photographed at The Ace Hotel and Swim Club, Palm Springs}

On a recent trip to Palm Springs for a friend's birthday Ten modeled one of her favorite vintage dresses while playing around in the lobby and photo booth of the Ace Hotel. The Ace is pretty much my favorite hotel ever because it always feels like summer camp for adults. The second photo is pretty indicative of Ten's personality and why we're best friends. We're both goofs, and if you get us together we're even goofier. It was a fun weekend in sweltering desert heat, thank goodness for the pool and floaty little vintage dresses!

bicycle bicycle bicycle

rebecca taylor, polka dot jacket, T By Alexander Wang, vintage bike, personal style, outfit post @ caseofcuriosities
{polka dot denim jacket} Rebbeca Taylor {striped tank} T By Alexander Wang {tiered skort} Urban Outfitters {crystal bullet necklace} etsy in the style of Unearthen {red sandals} Opening Ceremony {bicycle} vintage

"I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike, I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride it where I like..." Why is it every time I think about bicycles, I hear that Queen song and Freddie Mercury crooning? Then it reminds me of a summer night long past, spent in the basement of Acme Underground in the Village. That song was playing and the bar had begun to clear out. A few of us were dancing and Conor comes running by pretending to ride a bike. Pretty soon we all join in spinning around with our invisible handlebars, popping wheelies...

Alright, enough reminiscing. The outfit above illustrates that stripes and polka dots can live in harmony. The pattern on pattern trend is so hot right now, and pairing stripes with dots is an easy-peasy way to pull it off. Especially if they're in the same color family. I also really love red shoes, and those little lace-up guys from Opening Ceremony are my favorite ever!

Hope you guys had a great weekend and got a chance to ride your bicycle, real or invisible.

Nightmare and The Cat

{fig. 1} Nightmare and The cat {fig. 2} Lead singer Django James Stewart and in the audience the gorgeous Georgia Jagger {fig. 3-5} The band performing {fig. 6} A handmade poster outside {fig. 7} Dancing Doc Martens, Georgia in zebra print {fig. 8} Samuel Stewart on guitar {fig. 9 & 10} A sign announces this is the space; heart shaped cut-out romper = super cute {fig. 11 & 12} The crowd outside after the show; Brett and Elise {fig. 13} Elise's amazing Proenza Schouler heels from Confederacy with vintage heels in the background

One of my best friend's Elise is an endless source of obscure and amazing music. Her iPod is constantly a juke box of all the music I'd never heard of but always wished existed. So when she told me Brett's friend's band was playing a show in Silverlake, I knew I would love it. The music was danceable and electrifying. The crowd was filled with young hip people who were thoroughly enjoying themselves and that kind of energy spreads through an audience like wildfire making this one of the most fun shows I've been to in a long while.

Nightmare and The Cat is comprised of two brother's lead singer Django James and Samuel Stewart. They happen to be the sons of Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics and Siobhan Fahey of Shakespeare's Sister. I was a little too giddy when I heard that because as a kid I loved Shakespeare's Sister and remember choreographing dance moves for a school talent show to their song "Stay". Django James also happens to be dating model Georgia Jagger whom I was standing next to for most of the show and didn't even recognize until days later. When I first saw her I thought to myself, "wow, that girl is insanely pretty". Not to mention she had on the most amazing yellow dress that looked like Versace or Moschino paired with zebra print Doc Martens.

Check out Nightmare and The Cat here.

no. 6 wear in good health

{dress} No. 6 Vintage NYC {pink headband} Forever 21

No. 6 is one of my favorite lines. I love their use of vintage fabrics, and the crazy print of this little black and white number is pretty fantastic. It was a lucky find from the Barneys Warehouse sale which I brave every year looking for that perfect something... I think I may have found it. Mission accomplished.
