burst your bubble

Did you know that bubble wrap was invented some 50 years ago on accident? Two engineers were trying to invent a water resistant wall paper and stumbled upon the bubbly sheets that we know as packing material today. Well, Theyskens Theory has taken those little bubbles to the next level, and designed a dress that makes you wanna go pop!

I would wear this lovely iridescent number with a cropped black leather jacket and a pair of seriously heeled booties to add a touch of edge to the ethereal mermaid look.

neon necklaces

{fig. 1 & 2} Neon rhinestone necklaces from H&M

H&M has some really fun spring jewelry in stock right now. These two neon necklaces were among my finds. Neon rhinestone jewelry is so trendy right now. I plan on wearing these with something super casual, like a simple tee or fitted sweatshirt. I love that totally Parisian look of mixing something that seems reserved for evening wear with something simple and basic. Yay for H&M!

retro pool party

My amazing friend Mesha founded a troupe of retro synchronized swimmers. A while back I had the pleasure of watching their show at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel poolside bar, and it was so much fun! Ever since I've been inspired by vintage swim silhouettes, like this Marc by Marc Jacobs halter maillot. Pairing it with this vintage-inspired petal swim cap I feel like I just hopped into a pool in the swimming 60's!

A fun little sequin dress from an LA line called Crispin & Basilio was the perfect outfit for an evening out in West Hollywood. Some pics after a delicious dinner at STK, what a cute and yummy spot on La Cienega! The sweet corn pudding was to-die-for!

Spent the evening strolling 3rd Street Promenade and peeking in some cute shops with my friend Ten. A flowing silk dress and a light brocade jacket, both from Le Fou, were the perfect combo for a breezy evening near the beach.

candy coated

YSL Volupte Sheer Candy Luscious Cherry Lipstick
{lipstick} YSL Volupté Sheer Candy in Luscious Cherry, see here

Melting popsicles, watermelon pink and Blow Pop cherry rouge staining your lips. Duplicating that perfect pretty stain from popsicles and lollipops is a lot harder than it seems. Lipsticks are too opaque, and glosses are too glossy. There's something about an ice-pop stained mouth that tip-toes on the border of ingenue and Lolita. It's natural, youthful and fresh. This is why I love lip stains and Lip Smackers. Leave it to YSL to create something even better. Their Volupté Sheer Candy line is just like a sophisticated older sister to my favorite cherry chapstick. YSL describes it as a lip balm that thinks it's a lipstick. I picked up the Luscious Cherry color, which is a sheer magenta. The color is melted red popsicle perfection, and the moisture-rich balm texture is everything I want in a lip-product.

arcade fire

{images from} SSENSE "2Player" editorial, see more here

SSENSE always puts together the best editorials! I love the lighting and the arcade background that they used for their latest shoot. The aesthetic is just brilliant. The clothes are also to-die-for! My faves: that hot pink rubber Marc By Marc Jacobs chain link bracelet, those MCQ by Alexander McQueen dresses, and that amazing pair of printed skinny pants from Proenza Schouler.

Technicolor: Jeremy Scott for Adidas Originals FW12

{image via} hypebeast

Jeremy Scott creates a collection for Adidas inspired by bright colors, the 90's and technology. Most of the pieces look best suited for Nicki Minaj stage wear, teddy bear covered suspender pants anyone? This dress, however, intrigues me. Maybe it's the pantone color chip look of the multi-colored keyboard keys, or maybe it is the keyboard keys, but I kinda dig it. Okay, I kinda love it.

Neon Lace: Nanette Lepore SS12

I spotted some pieces from Nanette Lepore's SS12 collection on a recent shopping trip and I was awe struck. The colors are oh so pretty sherbets and bright neons, softened with floral prints and that amazing lace overlay. I love what a simple coral slip can do when peeking out from under a sheer layer. Too bad my prom-going years are behind me. That lace dress would be perfect, dressed up with some sparkly jewelry and sky-high heels. It has a subtle "Mad Men" retro vibe to it, while remaining youthful and modern thanks to the color combo. Too sweet for words!

MADEWELL FW12: Sheep Sweaters

{images from} Madewell FW12 look book

Here's some looks from Madewell's FW12 collection that the Editor in Sheep can really get behind. How ewe-nique! Remember Princess Di wearing that oh-so-cheeky sheep print sweater with one black sheep? Okay it was a long time ago, so maybe you don't remember. All I have to say is sheep prints are awesome. Baaawe-some!

the MUSE: Pepper Potts

{fig. 1} via artisticthings {fig. 2 & 3} via hellotailore, via naver {fig. 4 & 5} via hellotailor, via renren

Just saw The Avengers and I loved it! (Uh, Agent Phil Coulson is kind of my favorite thing ever.) Iron Man Tony Stark's darling damsel Pepper Potts makes an appearance and boy does she look great! I love Pepper Potts, and I love that Gwyneth Paltrow (my childhood style muse) plays her. How can you not? She wears that insanely hot backless blue gown to a Stark Industries gala. Then as Tony Stark, Iron Man himself, attempts to woo her with dancing and charming gazes she stammers something about forgetting deodorant.

Pepper Potts is all about minimalist futuristic cuts and perfectly tailored career wear. Her look is classic, sleek and luxurious with a touch of the unexpected which fits perfectly with her role as head of Stark Industries. Iron Man's right hand woman is of course outfitted in wonderfully tailored pieces that are fashion forward and feminine, yet at home in an office setting or on a private jet. I would imagine Pepper Potts would be a fan of lines like Max Mara, Calvin Klein Collection, Stella McCartney and Prada. For imitating her style on a budget, H&M's trend line has some very futuristically tailored pieces that would fit in perfectly with Pepper's wardrobe.
