There's something to be said about a girl who takes on giant robots in 4-inch stilettos and has the chutzpah to sass Megatron to his face. Granted it's all the grand illusion of cinema, but there's still something about Rosie that they don't know. From silver screen to magazine to the streets of New York and London this English Rose always looks effortlessly chic. From floaty silk separates to that lace trimmed Stella McCartney dress, she has pretty dressing down pat. Mastering the model-off-duty look Rosie pairs slouchy boyfriend jeans and ankle grazing skinnies with impeccably structured little jackets. By evening she's a stunner in shades of winter white, cream and champagne, just like her Transformers character who had a penchant towards little white dresses. Just because they're all in the same color family, don't expect boring similarity. A lace Dolce & Gabbana dress flirts with the delicate and demure, while an embellished Antonio Berardi dress channels Grecian warrior goddess, and a cut-out frock from Max Mara is sleek and futuristic. Rosie always looks fierce. Fierce enough to stare down those giant robots.

Let's talk great eccentrics. A salute to the unconventional, the people that make life interesting. My dear friend Ten is one of my favorite eccentrics. She laughs in the face of danger. Never looks the same way twice, and the last time Ten Terrell was at the Getty Center she was donning a pencil-thin villain mustache and lugging around blocks of ice. She wasn't building an igloo super-fortress, but rather participating in an art event as one of the LA Art Girls. The event was a celebration of the works of Allan Kaprow entitled "Overflow". Kaprow was a great eccentric in his own right and helped establish performance art.

This trip to the Getty was mustache-less, instead Ten modeled one of her favorite looks for the changing weather. She loves cropped jackets to shake off the lingering winter chill. As well as little dresses paired with tights and vintage boots. Black may be a prominent color in her wardrobe, how New York! But she's a master at mixing basic black with fun prints and stripes to break up the monotony. Another fun shoot at the Getty!

Pastels. Pastels. Pastels. You've heard the word a million times. You're probably getting sick of it and rightfully so, but pastels are "it" for spring and that word will not be disappearing from vocabularies anytime soon. Not only have sherbet shades been gracing the runways via clothing, but they've infiltrated the model's hair as well in the form of dip dyed locks, stand-out streaks and even full heads of mellow mint and lovely lilac. Those pretty pastels showed up on the runways of Proenza Schouler, Narciso Rodriguez, Thakoon, and Fendi to name a few. My personal faves are the subtle hint of peach at the Peter Som show and the teal streaks at Fendi.

When it comes to candy-colored locks there's no need to go drastic. Thanks to hair chalking and the Kevin Murphy Color Bug, both of which cover hair in an opaque powder and wash out, us play-it-safers can enjoy this trend as well. Just think of those chalks you had as a kid and the amazing colors on the sidewalk after you created your master- piece. Now go forth and embrace your inner Ramona Flowers with open arms and let your hair do the talking!

BLACK MILK SWIM: playing video games

Anytime I see Tetris my thumbs ache in muscle memory of the near addictive hours on end I spent as an adolescent playing it on my Gameboy. The addiction returns at the sight of these sweet maillots from Black Milk Clothing. Digital prints on one-piece swimsuits have been all the rage ever since We Are Handsome debuted those cheeky suits featuring actual images of LA sunsets, palm trees, and roaring panthers. Black Milk provides a lil' somethin' somethin' for those of us who love a good video or arcade game with their Tetris, Pacman, and Gameboy printed suits. "I can see all of LA from up here," she says, the city sprawled before her down the hillside from the observatory. "They're tiny people living in tiny houses," she reaches out, it all seems so far away. She seems so far away. Her mind is racing, chasing memories, running through the synapses of time and space. If only she could remember the details of that day a million hours ago.
